Some blogsites allow forms or buttons (like the sitemeter or LangaList or Flickr) in the sidebar (such as Blogger/blogspot.com and some word press based sites.) Other sites only allow a strict url (see my sidebar).
UPDATE–
It worked to add the image or badge/button, etc. Start here.
How can I post buttons and images links in my sidebar?
October 27th, 2005 by faqIf you want to display a Del.icio.us or Bloglines button or any image link, you can use the Link Manager to do it!
Click “Links” from your Dashboard and then “Add Link”. If you scroll down, there’s a box for you to enter an image url. Fill that in, and an image will be displayed instead of the link text. The image doesn’t even have to be hosted here either.
But this won’t work completely unless you enable the image to be viewed. Also note that often you are given the code to the linked site and it’s image in one piece of code. The trick is to add the new link per usual. But only the URL link to the site. Separate out the link to the image.
Towards the bottom of the page, add the url of the image to URL box. (Add only the image’s url, e.g., http://location.gif)

To show the images for links, be sure that under “links” then under “link categories”, enable (check or toggle) the box for each link category which says “show image”.

Word Press won’t allow javascript or flash in the sidebar unless you have your own server. However, here is where you can find existing sidebar buttons for Flickr. Or, to make your own. The reference comes from Buttons, Bows and Badges for Your Blog who lists other resources for doo-dads.
