Tumblr as E-mail complement to web logging

March 7th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Eudora is a great note taking, journal/diary, correspondence, info management, etc. I have the last Windows version (Eudora 7) which also has a built-in X1 file searcher. Eudora doesn’t have the ability to quickly add a reminder, unlike Outlook or other PIMs (personal information managers. Lotus Organizer was also great but no longer published). However, [...]

Inaugural edublogger magazine

February 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment

A new on-line magazine has been launched.
Today is the official birth date of the Edublogs Magazine. It’s been almost a year from the idea-dancing-around-our-head stage, trying to come up with a way to create an umbrella blog that would bring together the exciting Edublogs community.

Virtual communing guidelines

June 2nd, 2007 · No Comments

I forgot exactly how I got to this site, but it was immediately through “Public Geek” job title. The guidelines are for list-servs participants but I think would be useful for blogging communities, especially the edublogses. They also have a “posting policy”.
Web4Lib is specifically aimed toward librarians and library staff involved in World-Wide Web [...]

Code of conduct proposed for blogs

April 13th, 2007 · No Comments

Fortunately, web logs are not the be-all and end-all of the Internet. List-servs (e-zines, E-mail lists) are great and better than RSS feeds for many things. The Internet Scout Report is an excellent example.
